Tech Teacher Windsor CT

SeniorU is expanding in Windsor, Connecticut, and we’re looking for a friendly, patient Technology Instructor to help older adults build confidence with everyday tech. If you enjoy teaching, supporting others, and creating a positive learning experience, this flexible, part-time role might be a great fit.

About the Role

This contracted, in-person position begins in May 2026 and involves 6–8 hours per month at $30/hour, plus paid training. All materials—curriculum, slides, and handouts—are fully provided.

You’ll lead twice-monthly technology sessions for older adults, helping them learn essential digital skills like:

  • Email and texting
  • Smartphone and tablet basics
  • Safe browsing and avoiding scams
  • Video calling and everyday apps

Your goal is to create a welcoming, supportive environment where every participant feels comfortable learning at their own pace.

Responsibilities

  • Teach two technology classes each month in a lab setting
  • Use SeniorU’s ready-made curriculum (no lesson planning!)
  • Demonstrate and explain common digital tools
  • Support participants with patience and clarity
  • Share attendance and feedback with SeniorU staff
  • Be punctual and reliable for scheduled sessions

Required Qualifications

  • Strong comfort with smartphones, tablets, computers, and everyday apps
  • Clear, patient communication skills
  • Ability to explain technology in simple terms
  • Genuine interest in working with older adults
  • Reliable transportation to Windsor, CT

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or customer service
  • Background as a teacher, paraprofessional, librarian, or adult-ed instructor
  • Experience working with older adults or mixed-ability groups
